Drops of Water

The power of little efforts put in important works cannot be overstressed.

It's like planting a seedling...and It develops roots, grows into a plant with stems and branches... and so it does to give you back what you have planted and in abundant produce. All you ever did was put in a little seed into the soil and maybe once or twice, water it to make sure it absorbs the nutrients that are necessary for growth.
Another instance is reproduction; The seed of a man planted into a woman to bring forth a human, that's an addition to your population(Growth).

For growth to take place, a seed must be planted, no matter how small. Sometimes, a little effort is all that is needed. A drop of stone into an ocean forms ripples; but the stone must drop or be dropped. If it remains on the ground or in the air, a ripple wouldn't be formed.

Knowing where to put in efforts is also a very important aspect that aids growth; If one wants to cause a ripple in an ocean and he picks a stone and holds it up in the air, it's quite an effort on the person's side but what effect has it caused? He won't see ripples until he releases the stone into the ocean. Also someone who wants to get beans and decides to put a bean seed between cemented blocks where there are no nutrients for it to absorb and grow, it would wither, and instead of growing, it just dies... It is a wasted effort.

Sincerely, a wasted effort is useless compared to putting in no effort at all; ever had a reason to visit a place and on getting to your destination, you notice that you forgot the reason why you were there in the first place: moreso, when you walked a long distance to get there: ever observed how annoying it could be? The time and strength you wasted? It is frustrating.

In the same vein, people who delve into many things in life, working too hard and not being able to account for their hard works are frustrated. They lord it on so many reasons ranging from spiritual attacks and whats not (which is not impossible). Sometimes, one has to really be careful not to put in an effort that would be wasted. Most people know where their strengths and weaknesses lie, but they would rather go into a different field because that's where mates, colleagues are headed. That's the field that everybody recognizes; Most times, a particular field of career or 'hustle' as you may like to call it, gets too full that it gets too hard for new people to be admitted and there is where you find garbage mostly. It's like being in traffic because everybody wants to take that route(it's probably shorter) and nobody wants the other to go first; But then you go through the longer route and find out it's free...(like "the road not taken" by Robert Frost). But you prefer the short cut, where everyone takes and there, you twist and turn your steering, matching brakes, putting in too much effort and sometimes, in the end, you get to your destination later than the person who had taken the longer route even with your extreme efforts.

Finding one's strengths and knowing where one excels, is key because then, instead of carrying tankers of water to a place where the sun would dry it up (in the stead of a river) and waste your efforts. you can only put in drops of water that would in turn make up an ocean.
